Title: Dark matter and long-lived particle phenomenology in a one-loop neutrino mass model
Abstract: The appealing idea that neutrino masses and dark matter share a common origin is naturally realized in radiative neutrino mass models, where the symmetry that stabilizes the dark matter candidate also forbids neutrinos from acquiring masses at tree level. Following the prototypical scotogenic model, many variants that incorporate this mechanism are possible. In this seminar I will discuss the phenomenology of a scotogenic-like model containing a scalar triplet. We compute the relic density and impose constraints from direct detection experiments, finding that the parameter space allowed by these constraints typically features a long-lived or quasi-stable doubly charged scalar that can be searched for at the LHC. We reinterpret existing searches to derive limits on the masses of the scalars of the model and estimate future sensitivities in the high-luminosity phase of the LHC.
