[MiniCurso] – “QCD Scattering Theory”
29 Agosto, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 3:00 pm
Dr. Roman Pasechnik
(Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics, Lund, Sweden)
Jueves 29 de agosto de 2019
At high energy frontiers in modern Particle Collider experiments high-energy hadronhadron scattering serves as the main instrument for investigation of the basic interactions between elementary particles in the Standard Model and beyond, as well as the substructure of composite particles. In this course, we will focus on the general methodology and theoretical aspects of high-energy particle scattering mechanisms based on principles of the Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD).
Lecture 1 (11:30 – 13:00)
Higth energy scattering in QCD: Collider experiments (HERA, Tevatron, LHC); Parton model (quarks, gluons); Hadrons (baryons, mesons); Color charge and Quantum Chromodynamics; Hard and soft QCD.
Lecture 2 (14:00 – 15:00)
Deep inelastic scattering and QCD factorisation: DIS kinematics and observables; Bjorken scaling; scaling violations; Infinite momentum frame versus dipole frame; DIS in the Dipole Model; DGLAP evolution; parton density functions and the collinear QCD factorization.
