In ultra-peripheral heavy-ion collisions\, the strong electromagnetic fields of the ions act as intense photon beams. These enable the study of photon-photon and photon-ion interactions. In the first model\, the axion plays the role of dark matter\, while a dark photon acts as the mediator to the SM\, defining the Pure Dark Axion Portal. In the second model\, the dark matter candidate is the dark photon\, and a pseudo-scalar particle serves as the messenger through two distinct interactions to the SM that give rise to both UV and IR freeze-in channels. These channels provide a rich phenomenology and shape the relic abundance.
