(Chile Continental) \nLugar: Vía online \nSpeaker: Dr. Nicolás Bernal (New York University Abu Dhabi\, Emiratos Árabes Unidos) \nTitle:   “From WIMPs to FIMPs with Low Reheating Temperatures”\n\n\nAbstract:\n\nWeakly- and Feebly-Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs and FIMPs) are among the best-motivated dark matter (DM) candidates. In this paper\, we investigate the production of DM through the WIMP and FIMP mechanisms during inflationary reheating. We show that the details of the reheating\, such as the inflaton potential and the reheating temperature\, have a strong impact on the genesis of DM. The strong entropy injection caused by the inflaton decay has to be compensated by a reduction of the portal coupling in the case of WIMPs\, or by an increase in the case of FIMPs. We pinpoint the smooth transition between the WIMP and the FIMP regimes in the case of low reheating temperature. As an example\, we perform a full numerical analysis of the singlet-scalar DM model; however\, our results are generic and adaptable to other particle DM candidates. DESCRIPTION:Lyman break analogues: local laboratories for galaxy formation and evolution under extreme conditions\n  \n \n  \nThe universe experienced the peak of star formation activity approximately 10 billion years ago\, but objects at such epochs are difficult to observe in detail due to the large distances involved. In this talk\, I will discuss the background and recent results of a series of works on a sample of local analogues of high-redshift star-forming galaxies. These objects\, selected based on their high UV luminosities and surface brightness\, show characteristics more akin to galaxies at z ~ 1.5-2\, while their proximity allows for detailed investigations of a wide variety of physical properties\, including (among others) kinematics\, gas masses\, and environments. Microwave-wavelength observations\, including ALMA data\, show that these objects have similar relations between molecular gas and star formation to local galaxies (albeit at higher densities)\, but their proximity allows for a detailed study of their ISM properties even at lower masses and metallicities. They also show signs of nuclear accretion onto central intermediate-mass black holes\, and as such could act as interesting laboratories for an important brief stage of black hole growth before the M-sigma relation is fully established. Finally\, I will also briefly discuss other projects in which our research group is involved\, including the MOSAIC spectrograph for the Extremely Large Telescope.

(Chile Continental) \nLugar: Vía online \nSpeaker: Profesora Claudia Hagedorn (Instituto de Física Corpuscular\, CSIC-Universitat de Valencia) \nTitle: “Phenomenology of inverse seesaw with flavour and CP symmetries” \n  \nAbstract:   \nWe discuss two options of a scenario in which light neutrino masses are generated by the inverse seesaw mechanism (ISS) and the form of the coupling and mass matrices is determined by flavour and CP symmetries and their residuals. Results for lepton mixing and different signals of charged lepton flavour violation (cLFV) are presented. (Chile Continental) \nLugar: Vía online \nSpeaker: Dr. Patrick Foldenauer ( Instituto de Física Teórica\, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid\, España) \n Title:  “The latest from dark photons: from kinetic mixing to stellar cooling” \n  \nAbstract: \nA popular choice for novel mediators between the Standard Model (SM) and a dark sector are dark photons. Kinetic mixing between the new gauge bosons and the hypercharge gauge boson result in mixing with the photon and the Z. In many setups\, however\, the mixing with the hypercharge gauge boson captures only part of the kinetic mixing term with the photon\, since the new gauge bosons can also mix with the neutral component of the SU(2) gauge bosons. In this talk\, I will take these contributions into account and present a consistent description of kinetic mixing for general Abelian gauge groups. Based on these results I will derive a low-energy theorem for the couplings of novel Abelian gauge bosons with the SM Higgs boson from the one-loop kinetic mixing amplitudes. Novel contributions from gauge boson loops will be present.
