DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dra. Maria Petropavlova \nInstitution: Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics\, Czech Technical University in Prague \nTitle: Constraints on Neutrino Secret Interactions from Multi-messenger neutrinos scattering on CνB \nDate: Miércoles 9 de abril\, 14:30 hrs (Chile Continental) \nAbstract: We present new constraints on neutrino secret interactions (νSI) using high-energy and ultra high-energy astrophysical neutrinos as probes of new physics beyond the Standard Model. By studying neutrinos from established sources\, such as SN1987A\, NGC 1068\, TXS 0506+056\, PKS 0735+178\, and the extreme-energy KM3-230213A event\, we explore the potential interactions of Dirac neutrinos with a massive spin-one boson during their propagation through the Cosmic Neutrino Background (CνB). Notably\, the KM3-230213A event allows us to probe an entirely new scale of interaction strength and reveals sensitivity to heavier mediator masses previously beyond reach. \nOur analysis covers both ultra-relativistic and non-relativistic regimes\, deriving exclusion limits on the νSI coupling constant across the full mediator mass range. We examine flavor-universal and flavor-non-universal coupling scenarios\, the latter are often addressed in discussions about cosmological tensions such as H₀ and S₈ discrepansies. This work contributes to the ongoing development of the theoretical framework for νSI and illustrates the potential of multi-messenger neutrino observations to probe fundamental aspects of neutrino interactions. \n  \nLa plataforma será Teams. The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO) is a multipurpose neutrino detector in China that is nearing completion after over a decade of design and construction. In addition to having an unprecedentedly large 20 kton liquid scintillator target\, JUNO will have an energy resolution of 3%\, with which it will be able to resolve the fine structure in the oscillation probability of reactor antineutrinos at a baseline of 52.5 km. This capability will enable JUNO to determine how neutrino masses are ordered and to advance our knowledge of neutrino oscillations beyond current limits. JUNO will also have a rich program with neutrinos from a variety of natural sources\, such as the Earth\, the Sun\, the atmosphere\, and supernova explosions. This field is generated by vigorous convection in the liquid outer core\, a highly dynamic process that results in temporal variations and regional anomalies\, such as the ongoing South Atlantic Anomaly. \n To reconstruct past variations of the Earth’s magnetic field and improve our understanding of its behavior\, we analyze magnetic signals stored in volcanic rocks. When lava cools\, iron-bearing minerals become magnetized in alignment with the prevailing geomagnetic field\, preserving a record of its past state. Volcanic regions with frequent eruptions thus serve as natural archives of geomagnetic history. However\, traditional methods to reconstruct the past intensity of the field\, which measure bulk samples containing millions of iron-bearing minerals simultaneously\, have a low success rate—only 10–20% of lavas yield reliable paleomagnetic data. \nEmerging micromagnetic imaging techniques now allow for the direct measurement of magnetic moments arising from individual iron-bearing minerals\, enabling selective interpretation of only the most reliable signals. Building on these advancements\, we have developed Micromagnetic Tomography\, a novel approach that enhances our ability to extract high-fidelity paleomagnetic information. This breakthrough opens new possibilities for understanding the evolution of Earth’s magnetic field with unprecedented precision.

DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Dr. Salvador Urrea \nInstitution: Laboratoire de Physique des 2 Infinis Irène Joliot Curie (IJCLAB) \nTitle: New Physics at Neutrino Detectors \nAbstract: In this talk\, I will discuss the potential of neutrino detectors as powerful tools in the search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. First\, focusing on phenomena that affect neutrino oscillations\, I will delve into scenarios such as sterile neutrinos and non-unitarity in the leptonic sector\, for which I will use the DUNE Near Detector to project future sensitivities. Additionally\, I will constrain non-standard neutrino interactions (NSI) by performing a global fit to oscillation data and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS). Second\, I will explore how neutrino experiments can be utilized as fixed-target facilities to search for feebly interacting particles (FIPs)\, such as axion-like particles (ALPs) and heavy neutral leptons (HNLs).
